More remnant magic

I'm known for being (ahem) frugal, I wouldn't want to waste a lovely piece of fabric, no matter how small. This fabric remnant was only 40cm by 40cm and had a dirty mark in the middle (that I didn't think would wash out). Some buttons, ribbon and braid later and you wouldn't know that some jiggery pokery was afoot. This lovely cushion is backed with some vintage faded chocolate velvet - just the thing to set off the vintage G P & J Baker fabric.

Sewing - in style

Welcome to Designer Remnants' shiny new blog, which we are planning to use to showcase all our remnant sewing projects, lots of fun patterns, informative stuff and of course blog candy.

First up is "Brian the owl". A super quick project that took about 10 minutes (hand sewing, cos my sewing machine is on the blink). Brian is filled with wadding (so he is a bit of a softy!), but next time I think I will add some rice/sand to make a heavy weight door stop.
